The troubles of life

1. God Does Not Manifest Himself Through Destruction

In Elijah’s experience, God was not present in violent phenomena.

“The LORD was not in the wind… the LORD was not in the earthquake… the LORD was not in the fire.” (1 Kings 19:11–12, KJV)

God revealed Himself in a “still small voice,” not in devastation.

2. God Is Not the Author of Evil

The Bible states that evil does not originate from God.

“Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man.” (James 1:13, KJV)

3. God Gives Only Good Things

Everything that comes from God is good.

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above.” (James 1:17, KJV)

Calamities do not match His character.

4. Suffering Comes From a Fallen World

The present world is imperfect because of sin.

“By one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin.” (Romans 5:12, KJV)

Pain and death are consequences of humanity’s fall.

5. Satan Brings Destruction

The Bible presents Satan as the source of ruin.

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.” (John 10:10, KJV)

He is the destroyer, not God.

6. God Heals and Saves

God brings life, not disaster.

“I am come that they might have life.” (John 10:10, KJV)

“The LORD is good to all.” (Psalm 145:9, KJV)

7. Jesus Rejected the Idea That Tragedies Are Divine Punishments

He spoke about people killed in an accident.

“Think ye that they were sinners above all men… I tell you, Nay.” (Luke 13:4–5, KJV)

Not every tragedy is a punishment from God.

8. God Comforts in Trouble

He does not cause suffering but comforts those who suffer.

“The God of all comfort; who comforteth us in all our tribulation.” (2 Corinthians 1:3–4, KJV)

9. God Will Remove Suffering in the Future

His final plan is restoration.

“God shall wipe away all tears… neither shall there be any more death, neither sorrow, nor crying.” (Revelation 21:4, KJV)
