- The divine name YHWH appears clearly
- The Bible was not created late β it was already used in daily life
- People carried Scripture as personal protection
What it confirms historically
β existence of biblical texts before the exile
β stability of textual transmission
β use of the name YHWH
β personal faith, not only temple ritual
Conclusion
Ketef Hinnom shows that Scripture was already considered sacred centuries before the final compilation of the Bible.
We do not only have a late copy β
we have a fragment from the real biblical world.
This is one of the strongest pieces of evidence that the biblical text was faithfully transmitted from antiquity.
