Judgment

The Bible teaches that a solemn day is coming: the final judgment. God is holy and just, and every person will stand before Him to be judged through his Son. At the same time, God offers mercy now through repentance, calling all people to turn from sin before it is too late.

The following Scriptures reveal:

  • The judgment according to works
  • Personal responsibility before God
  • The urgent call to repentance
  • The final separation of the righteous and the wicked

1. The Judgment According to What Is Written in the Books

Revelation 20:12–13 (KJV)

“And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.”

Explanation

This passage describes the great moment when all humanity will stand before God:

  • Both small and great will appear before Him.
  • The “books” will be opened, containing the record of every life.
  • The Book of Life will also be opened.
  • Every person will be judged “according to their works.”

Nothing will be hidden in that day.

2. God’s Call to Repent Before Judgment

Ezekiel 18:30 (KJV)

“Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.”

Explanation

God clearly declares that each person is responsible for his own ways:

  • Judgment is certain.
  • But repentance is offered now.
  • Sin will destroy only those who refuse to turn back to God.

Repentance is God’s mercy before judgment comes.

3. The Judgment of the Son of Man and the Final Separation

Matthew 25:31–46 (KJV)

“When the Son of man shall come in his glory… then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory.”

All nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate people as a shepherd divides sheep from goats.

The Reward of the Righteous

Matthew 25:34 (KJV)

“Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.”

The Sentence of the Wicked

Matthew 25:41 (KJV)

“Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire(second death ), prepared for the devil and his angels.”

Revelation 20:14 (KJV)

“And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.”

Revelation 21:8 (KJV)

“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

The Final Outcome

Matthew 25:46 (KJV)

“And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”
