The Bible speaks clearly about the condition of a person after death. In many religious concepts, death is viewed as a conscious continuation of existence in another form. However, Scripture describes death as an unconscious sleep until the resurrection.
Ecclesiastes 9:5,10 (KJV)
“For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.”

Conclusion
According to Scripture, the dead do not think, feel, or communicate. They rest in the grave until the resurrection promised by God. The biblical hope is not conscious survival after death, but restoration to life through God’s power.
