Testimony

1. Introduction – Testimony Is a Command, Not an Option

God has not called believers to live in silent faith, but to be active witnesses of His truth.

“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
(Matthew 24:14 KJV)

Witnessing is central to God’s work on earth.

2. God Calls His People to Be His Witnesses

The Lord clearly declares who His witnesses are.

“Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord… that ye may know and believe me.”
(Isaiah 43:10 KJV)

“I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour.”
(Isaiah 43:11 KJV)

“Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, that I am God.”
(Isaiah 43:12 KJV)

The believer’s testimony confirms that God alone is Savior.

3. Jesus Sends His Disciples to Preach

Witnessing begins with obedience to Christ’s commission.

“But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
(Matthew 10:6 KJV)

“And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
(Matthew 10:7 KJV)

A disciple is not called to remain silent, but to go and proclaim.

4. Christ’s Witnesses Testify Together With the Holy Spirit

Witnessing is not only through words, but through a life lived with Christ.

“And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.”
(John 15:27 KJV)

God calls witnesses who truly know Him.

5. Witnessing Means Declaring the Name of the Lord

To witness is to publicly proclaim what God has done.

“And in that day shall ye say, Praise the Lord, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people.”
(Isaiah 12:4 KJV)

True testimony brings glory to God, not to man.

6. The Example of the Mission – Luke 9 and Luke 10

Jesus sent His disciples into practical ministry of witnessing.

“Then he called his twelve disciples together… and sent them to preach the kingdom of God.”
(Luke 9:1-2 KJV)

In Luke 10, the Lord sends even more workers.

“After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face.”
(Luke 10:1 KJV)

Witnessing is a continuing work for every believer.

7. The Watchman’s Responsibility – Warning the Lost

God makes His servants responsible to warn others.

“So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman… therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.”
(Ezekiel 33:7 KJV)

“If thou dost not speak to warn the wicked… his blood will I require at thine hand.”
(Ezekiel 33:8 KJV)

“Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked… thou hast delivered thy soul.”
(Ezekiel 33:9 KJV)

Witnessing is a holy responsibility.

8. A Witness Must Watch His Own Life

A testimony is not effective without a godly life.

“Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine… for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.”
(1 Timothy 4:16 KJV)

The credibility of our witness comes from character.

9. God Opens Doors for Witnessing

Even when people try to stop the gospel, God continues His work.

“But the angel of the Lord… opened the prison doors.”
(Acts 5:19 KJV)

God supports His witnesses in every circumstance.

10. Conclusion – Witnessing Is the Calling of Every Believer

Witnessing is:

  • the command of Christ
  • proof that we belong to God
  • the proclamation of the gospel to the world
  • the responsibility to warn and to save

“Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord.”
(Isaiah 43:10 KJV)
